Never Met a Zombi I Didn’t Like…

SOLID opening for PINEAPPLE and HOPE for more LETHAL WEAPON!

According to Daily Hollywood deadline, THE PINEAPPLE EXPRESS pulled in a very impressive 12.1 mill on its opening day on Wednesday giving it the biggest Wednesday opening ever for the month of August. THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS 2 opened the same day and took in a very respectable 5.7 mill.

There’s an interesting story posted on the Coming Soon website about the possibilities of a fifth entry in Warner Bros LETHAL WEAPON franchise. The story goes on to say that a spec script has been written by Shane Black and that Mel Gibson and Danny Glover would be interested in returning. If Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford and Sylvester Stallone can come back years later to reprise the characters of John McClane, Indiana Jones and Rocky Balboa, there’s no reason why Gibson and Glover’s characters, Riggs and Murtaugh, wouldn’t be welcome with open arms. All four entries in the Lethal Weapon series have had strong entertainment value and a loyal following and I believe Lethal Weapon 2 was one of the best sequels ever made. Considering all the bad publicity Gibson has received in the last five years this would be a good move on his part! I hope it HAPPENS! LINK
