CLASSIC 1980’s Miniseries V to be RE-imagined!
According to Variety, ABC television has acquired the right‘s to the 1980’s sci-fi miniseries V and is planning on doing an updated version. V originally aired May 1, 1983 on NBC and was a superior piece of television in its time. The highly rated, very popular, TV event was both an Alien invasion story and a Nazi allegory. It made a name for actor Mark Singer (Beast Master) with his compelling performance as the hero, playing the character of TV news camera man Mike Donovan. The success of V spawned a sequel titled V: The Final Battle and then later a TV series. The four hour program was as good as it gets if you’re a fan of GREAT sci-fi.
While I find it interesting that ABC is pursuing a remake, the concept of the miniseries is not what it used to be as audience attention span has changed dramatically. Viewers aren’t as open to following multiple night viewings like they did when classic events like Rich Man Poor Man, Roots, The Winds of War and The Thorn Birds were the rage. Still I’ll be interested in how this turns out!

I have been waiting for this to be either re-done into a miniseries or a movie for years! I loved this series…even dressed up as a visitor for halloween one year!
