TAKING OF PELHAM 123 Poster

Joblo.com has obtained the first poster to Tony Scott’s TAKING OF PELHAM 123, the remake of the 1974 hostage thriller. As you can see it stars Denzel Washington and John Travolta who take on the roles played in the original by Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw. While comparing this one-sheet to the original films it’s easy to see that poster art was much more detailed and creative four decades ago. This is another perfect example of how little regard goes into the true art of today’s Posters. As for the film itself, I’m hoping for the best but it will be hard pressed to outdo the Joseph Sargent version which was a terrific movie with a classic ending. The remake hits theaters June 12.
