ABC’s V attracts sizable audience for its premiere episode
13.9 million viewers ABC’s updated version of the classic 80’s Miniseries V, which later became a weekly TV show, got off to a great start Tuesday night. It pulled in close to 14 million viewers. With solid reviews and terrific internet buzz, this new interpretation of the Alien invasion story should turn into a hit for the network which has done a great job supporting the science fiction genre. With programs like the ground-breaking Lost and this season’s Fast Forward the network has given viewers that like to think and be entertained a place to go.
As for the pilot episode, I really enjoyed it but I did think it was almost too quickly paced. It was clear that producers were not interested in the concept of slow burn as events took off from the get-go and many plot points that took hours to cover in the original miniseries were covered in this very first hour. Still, with a very solid cast lead by Elizabeth Mitchell and the stunningly beautiful Morena Baccarin, this is a show that I look forward to tuning into on a weekly basis. It has a ton of potential to be something quite memorable. Here’s the Trailer
