Never Met a Zombi I Didn’t Like…

twelve-roundsHere’s a LOOK at the trailer to the latest WWE theatrical effort, 12 ROUNDS, starring wrestler John Cena. This action film, directed by Renny Harlin, revolves around a cat and mouse game between a cop and a serial killer. I’m a Harlin fan and think the guy has gotten a bad rap in Hollywood. Die Hard 2: Die Harder is a great action film, Cliffhanger is one of Stallone’s best, Long Kiss Goodnight is an underrated gem and Deep Blue Sea is terrific b-movie fun. Now he’s a hired gun directing a wrestler for producer Vince McMahon. 12 Rounds will be released by 20th Century Fox March 27, 2009.

  1. I’m gonna have to concur with you on Harlin. Die Hard 2 is underrated for its time and Cliffhanger is without question a classic. Who expected Sly to drop the gal at the beginning?! FETCH!!! That is some great stuff. Sad to see him be reduced to directing Cena, indeed. Nice pull!!

  2. Before we get too crazy, while I did enjoy the films you mentioned and Ford Fairlane as well – this is the same guy whose last 5 films performed atrociously at the box office…Driven, Mindhunters, Exorcist: The Beginning, The Covnenant and The Cleaner…. maybe he should be thanking Vince Cena for the work…it’s probably the biggest audience he’ll have for a movie in a while.

  3. I’ll still take Harlin over half the hacks working in the business today! I actually think he did a decent job on his cut of Exorcist:The Beginning. Overall though, he should stick with the action genre.
