Never Met a Zombi I Didn’t Like…

Columbia Pictures has released a second trailer to its upcoming romantic comedy The Ugly Truth, starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. Since most films in this genre are fairly predictable and ultimately sink or swim on the chemistry of its leads, this pairing looks good. While speculation on whether Heigl is difficult on set and whether she will stay or leave ABC’s hit show Grey’s Anatomy never seems to end, there is no denying that she is a commanding screen presence. She’s not only attractive but she’s has developed a powerful confidence as an actress and should be a major player on the big screen over the next decade. For those who may not remember, Heigl played the niece of Steven Segal’s Casey Ryback character in Under Siege 2: Dark Territory. The Ugly Truth hits theaters July 2, 2009. With that release date the studio obviously has confidence they have a winner on its hands.

  1. *Gerard Butler

By the way Chuck, I can only hope you no longer support that liar we affectionately know as Barack Hussein Obama. No earmarks he says, 9,000 earmarks he gives us. That’s integrity right there.

  2. Thanks for the correction but shouldn’t the other comment be reserved for the Huffington Post!

  3. I like to discuss politics every now and then. Just thought I’d see what you think of Obama’s progress for “change” so far, that’s all. It’s quite hilarious seeing Obama-maniacs try to make excuses for the man’s broken promises and unbearable insolence. He’s becoming quite the embarassment as of late.

As for movies, I highly recommend I Love You Man. One of the funniest movies I’ve seen in awhile. You should see it if you haven’t already and write a review. To be honest, you’re quite knowledgeable when it comes to cinema so I always enjoy your take on the subject.

When it comes to politics, I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree. However, I hope you don’t mind if I challenge your views from time to time. For what good are beliefs if you have no logical reason to believe in them?

  4. I actually think this looks good and I NEVER see romantic comedies. Okay, maybe it si not so much that it looks “good”, but Butler has a likable screen character here and Heigl has an attractive charm to her. This is going to be interesting to see how well it does.
